Carlos Matlock, Deputy Chief of Police
Carlos witnesses every day the challenges experienced by folks who struggle with mental health challenges. Carlos is eager to bring his considerable experience working in the community to the NAMI Will-Grundy Board.
Deputy Chief Carlos Matlock has been with the Joliet Police Department since 1994, previously serving in Patrol and Investigations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration in 2008 from the University of Phoenix. DC Matlock is also a member of the Joliet Police Department Honor Guard, Black Police Officer Association, Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force, Terrorists Officers Liaison Committee, and the department’s Crisis Negotiation Team.
