Teena Mackey

Teena is the Executive Director of the local National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) serving residents of Will and Grundy Counties.

Teena is a licensed facilitator of the Family-to-Family program, the Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid programs whose goal is to recognize the signs and symptoms of emerging issue associated with the onset of mental illness. Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid desires to educate the community and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.

Following a successful career in public service in Parks and Recreation Teena has been employed for the past thirteen years at Cornerstone Services serving individuals diagnosed with mental illness.

Teena serves on the Will County Board of Health and is an active participant in the Illinois State Board of Education Social and Emotional Learning task Force.

In October of 2020, Teena was presented with The Rev. James E. Allen Award for service to the community by Project Acclaim. This award recognizes individuals who have had a growing impact on the local community. Teena has been involved with NAMI, as well as other outside events that have benefitted the community. (2021)
